EASTER SEASON WORSHIP
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday March 6 with a service at 7 pm. Join us and bring the family.
Palm Sunday is April 14 with worship at 9 am and an Easter luncheon at 1 pm in our fellowship hall. The “Easter Puppy” will be here for all to enjoy and there will be activities for the children…perhaps an egg hunt and more! Mark this date on your calendar and bring the family.
Maundy Thursday is April 18 with a candlelight service of communion around the tables in fellowship hall as in the Upper Room at 7 pm. Bring the family to share the Lord’s supper and fellowship together.
Easter SUNRISE service will be held outside our church at 6 AM….dress appropriately. We will begin inside and walk outside on our ramp for the end of the service. Then we will offer breakfast sandwiches inside from 7:15 am to 8:30 am. Our regular Easter service will be held at 9 am inside. All are welcome to attend all or any of these events.
FILLING SALE FOR EASTER
Do you like a good homemade bread and potato filling (or stuffing)? But hate the preparation of it? Well then be sure to order your filling from church! We will be making filling at the church for pick up April 13. Sign up for your order on the sheet in the fellowship hall. Prices and size will be on the sheet. All proceeds will benefit the church and filling can be safely frozen until you want it.
DANGER RETREAT FOR BOYS & MEN
On April 26, 27 and 28 some men and sons from our church will be heading out to Pocono Plateau for a retreat of danger! It is open to all school age boys and their dads or grandfathers of our church. Interested? See Pastor Ed for an application. A $30 deposit is required to hold your space at camp. Pastor Ed went it to last year and had a wonderful time. This year we have at least three boys and dads going.
Food is supplied and great cabins too!
Join us on Sunday, March 3, April 7, May 5 and June 2 for Holy Communion during the 9 am worship service.
AD BOARD MEETINGS
Dates for Ad board meetings will be March 21, April 25 and May 16 at 7 pm.
In case of inclement weather for Mar. the meetings will be cancelled until the next month.

STROUDSBURG SOUP KITCHEN
YES…we are again serving at the Stroudsburg UMC Soup Kitchen. Our two upcoming dates to serve are May 26 and June 30 beginning at 2 pm. Watch your bulletins for what we need you to make. Desserts are always needed too! We serve at 4 pm and help is always welcome to help serve and clean up. Sign up sheets will be out in the fellowship hall in April. Questions on this, see Pastor Ed.
In January we held our first visioning meeting and it was a great success. We discussed dates for February thru June 2019.
On May 25 we will hold our next visioning meeting to handle July thru December 2019. All are welcome to attend and give their input on what they would like to see at McMichaels Church and what they would like to attend to help our church to grow. Please mark your calendars for this date.
SOMETHING NEW AT OUR CHURCH
CRAFTS! Lead by Marie Link and Andrea Santiago. Don’t miss this! The girls have various crafts to do and you can make your own and have a great time!
The first date is March 30 at 3 pm. They will be making an Easter craft and it is open to 25 people to attend. Cost will be listed in our bulletins to come.
On April 13 at 3 pm they will be making a
Craft bunny. Again the cost and supplies will be listed in the bulletins as it gets closer.
STAT REPORTS DUE AT CHURCH
By Conference direction we must complete STAT reports by March 15.

RESCHEDULED HOT ROAST TURKEY DINNER
Join us on Saturday March 9, beginning at 2 pm to 5 pm for our postponed hot roast turkey sandwich dinner. We will be offering mashed potatoes, vegetables, beverage and homemade desserts for only $8 adults, $4 children ages 6 to 12. Those five and under are free. Mark your calendars and enjoy with us! Remember to change your clocks on the evening of March 9 as we spring forward for Daylight savings time on March 10! You don’t want to miss worship service.
TOOLS FOR MINISTRY
“Tools for ministry” will be presented at Asbury UMC, Allentown on March 2 at 8:15 until 1 pm. Anyone can attend but all Christ servant ministers and lay leaders should attend along with the pastor. Cost is $10 for walk-ins and consists of lunch and your choice of two classes of various interests. Pastor Ed will be attending. Questions? See the Pastor.
EASTER FLOWERS AVAILABLE
Order your Easter flowers now until March 24 on the sign up sheet in the fellowship hall. Choose from Red, Yellow, Pink or Purple Tulips at $7 each; White, Orange or Yellow Lilies at $8 each; Blue, Pink or White Hyacinths at $7 each or Standard Daffodils at $7 each or Mini daffodils at $3 each. They all can be taken home after Easter and planted to bloom again next year.
NEW! Also offered are smaller 4.5 inch assorted Florist Mums for $3.50. Many people like to place these on cemetery plots of loved ones. These will be available April 18 at the church for those who wish to take before hand to the cemetery so they are on for Easter. Sign up for these also in the fellowship hall.
We are currently working on a new t-shirt design and will be showing it soon! Sign up in the fellowship hall for a new t-shirt. Price and deadline to be determined in bulletin. Many thanks to Andrea and Manny Santiago for working on this and handling the new design.
